MARION, IL – Michael James Pieper, 64, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018, at the Marion VA Medical Center.

He was born October 27, 1953, to Earl and Lillie (Squires) Pieper. He married Pamela Black on September 3, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles.

Michael was a US Air Force Veteran. He was previously employed as a railroad lineman and a truck driver for the US Postal Service. He was a member of the Mustang Club in Paducah, KY and the Model Train Club.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela; daughter, Tammy; step-brother, Billy; step-sons, Jule and Jermaine; one uncle; several aunts and cousins, with honorable mention to Chuck Harris, who was more of a brother than a cousin; and many dear friends.

Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Norton officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
