SPRINGFIELD – Mike Lee, 74, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025, at his home.

He was born September 12, 1950, to James and Loretta (Ambs) Lee, Jr., both of whom preceded him in death. A sister, Marilyn Grace also preceded him in death. He married Penny Gantt on April 15, 1967, in St. Louis.

Mike was a US Army veteran, serving 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 32 and was a founding member and director of the Legion Riders. He helped raise funds for Wreaths Across America to be placed at Camp Butler National Cemetery and Oak Ridge Cemetery. He loved riding his motorcycle, building train layouts, and reading.

He is survived by his wife, Penny; children, Michael Lee, Jr. and Loretta Lee (Gary Keefer); grandchildren, Joy and Cody Lee, and Bryn Keefer; brothers, David Lee (Mary Kay) and James Brian Lee (Robin); and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2025, at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors rendered by the US Department of Defense – Army.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Legion Riders Post 32.
