SPRINGFIELD – Mitchell Wayne Scroggins, 64, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at St. John's Hospital.

He was born October 29, 1961, to Donald and Arlene (Jacobs) Scroggins, Sr., both of whom preceded him in death. A brother, Mark Scroggins, also preceded him in death. He married Linda McCann on November 19, 2005.

Mitchell was a retired mechanic. He was a member of Cool Cruisers Car Club. He enjoyed attending car shows, especially the Route 66 Mother Road Car Show. He was an avid collector of Hot Wheels cars and enjoyed boating and skiing. He loved all animals, especially his cats.

He is survived by his wife, Linda "Lynn"; siblings, Marlene Gudgel, Donald Scroggins, Jr. and Cheryl Netznik; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Oak Hill Cemetery with Reverend Mark Gifford officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Animal Protective League.
