SPRINGFIELD – Monte L. McClanahan, 74, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024, at his home.

He was born September 11, 1949 to Willard and Janette (Collins) McClanahan. He married Victoria Nelson on November 27, 1971 in Mt. Sterling.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lorraine, Wilma, Dolores, Judy and Sandra; brothers, Willard, Jr., Ace and Wilbert.

Monte was a US Army veteran. He retired from UPS.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki; children, Amy (Bob) Woodrum-Stoye and Matthew (Cynthia) McClanahan; grandchildren, Solomon McClanahan, Lincoln McClanahan, Joshua Agans and Madalynn Woodrum; great-grandchildren, Carson, Dillan, Logan and Gavin Agans; sisters, Arlene (Bill) Waldmire and Karen McClanahan (Mark Rockwood); nephews/brothers, Dave (Roxanne) Miller and Rich (Betty) Brockschmidt; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Animal Protective League.
