SPRINGFIELD – Myril Lee Gentry, 71, passed away Friday, September 19, 2025, at his home.

He was born September 25, 1953, to Paul and Margaret (Hamrick) Gentry, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Nellie Reno and Nancy Gentry; and brothers, Ernest Gentry and Paul Gentry.

Myril was a brick mason by trade. He was a member of Elm Street Christian Church. He was a kind and generous man who would give anyone the shirt off his back.

He is survived by his son, Eric Gentry; daughter, Jessica Walbert; granddaughter, Kaleigh Walbert; brothers, David and Bill Gentry; sisters, Louise (George) Clark, Sandy Heinrich, Marilyn Gentry, Emma Simmons, Anna Hartley and Judy Oger; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Elm Street Christian Church.
