ATHENS, IL – Nancy J. Beal, 69, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Memorial Medical Center.

She was born February 2, 1949, to Harold and Mary (Georgevich) Lawson, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Ronnie Lee Beal on July 14, 1968. He preceded her in death on October 6, 2018.

Nancy was employed with SIU Center for Family Medicine as a phlebotomist. She was a member of the Route 66 Cruisers. She enjoyed going to car shows, craft shows and flea markets. She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed Stephen King novels.

She is survived by her children, Liz (Johnny) Bishop and Nick Beal; grandsons, Nathan (fiancé, Kelly) Bishop and Dalton Bishop; great-granddaughter, Karissa Bishop; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Jane (Tom) Rath, Robert (Vickie) Beal and Roy Beal; her dog, Cisco; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life for Ronnie and Nancy will be announced at a later date.
