Nancy Jean Patton, 72, of Rochester, Illinois passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma at Barnes Jewish Hospital on September 6, 2023, surrounded by family.

Nancy was born in Springfield, Illinois on June 11, 1951 to Eugene and Betty Baker both of whom preceded her in death.

She graduated from Springfield High School in 1969 and attended William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri. Nancy married James Kevin Patton on June 26, 1982 in an intimate ceremony. During her life, Nancy worked at Baker's True Value Hardware, Sikich Accounting, and at the Illinois Great Rivers Conference for the United Methodist Church, from which she just recently retired.

Throughout her life the most important things to Nancy were her family, friends, and her faith in the Lord. She loved any opportunity to spoil her children/grandchildren and treasured adventures and travels with family.  She had endless laughs with her best friend, Robin Gauss and friends, Julie Baliva, Holly Taylor and Pat Wright. She was a long-time member of the Sugar Creek Methodist Church, where she attended Bible study, volunteered, and formed many valuable friendships.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was also preceded in death by her in-laws, Earl and Catherine Patton and her sister, Janet Glisson.

Left to mourn Nancy's passing is her loving husband of 41 years, James Kevin Patton; 3 children, William Gre (Melanie) Patton, James Ryan (Delaney) Patton and Catherine Elizabeth (Daryl) Fullmer; 6 cherished grandchildren, Abigail Lynn, Hannah Lynn, Jackson William, Nora Jaye, Harper Jean and Madison Catherine; brother-in-law, James Brian (Kimberly Benckendorf) Patton; nephew, John Groesch; and niece, Jennifer Robson.

The family would like to thank Dr. Kahn and staff at the Simmons Cancer Institute in Springfield, Illinois, Brea Willey and the Intensive Care team at Memorial, and Dr. Bartlett, Mandy Gass and staff at Barnes Jewish Hospital for their compassionate care and dedication.

Friends may visit from 11 am to 12 pm Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Sugar Creek Methodist Church, Chatham, Illinois. Funeral Services will be held at 12 pm at Sugar Creek Church with Bishop Frank J. Beard and Pastor Paul Dinges officiating. A lunch will immediately follow the service.
