Nancy Jean Walker, 83, of New Berlin, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2025, surrounded by her four children at Memorial Medical Center.

She was born in Springfield, IL on September 20, 1941, the daughter of Myron S. and Doris R. Merrill.

She attended Feitshans High School and worked for many years before retiring from SIU School of Medicine. She was a loyal New Berlin Pretzel supporter, as well as a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting and made many blankets for family and friends. She was a member of the Berlin Christian Church.

She is survived by her children, Curt (Vicki) Walker of Loudon, TN, Kelly (John) Yates of New Berlin, Craig Walker of Texas City, TX, and Keith (Mary) Walker, also of New Berlin; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Myra Mogle.

A Memorial Gathering is scheduled for Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Berlin Christian Church, located at 2580 S. Wake Rd, New Berlin, IL 62670. A prayer service will begin at 10:30 with Warren Brosi officiating. Private inurnment will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park in Springfield.
