TALULLA, IL – Norman Dale Swatzell, 83, of Tallula, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

He was born December 8, 1938, in Tallula to Dawsey "Doc" and Helen Louise (Sinclair) Swatzell.

Norman is survived by his daughter, Beth (Jerry) Winter of Springfield; son, Mat (Angela Esser) Swatzell of Florida; brothers, Tom Swatzell of Texas and Tim Swatzell of Colorado; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many friends and family, including his uncle, Dale Sinclair.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Churchill; his parents; and step-father, Howard Janet

Stormin' Norman graduated from Tallula High School in 1956 and played professional baseball for the Washington Senators prior to joining the US Navy. He loved living life on his own terms. He will be greatly missed.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
