Feb 20, 1953 — Jun 18, 2026
Springfield
Pamela Ann Eddy, 73, of Springfield, Illinois, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026 at St. John's Hospital.
Pam was born on February 20, 1953, in Springfield, Illinois, to James and Myrtle Markey. On July 4, 1973, she married David Eddy, beginning a partnership that spanned nearly 53 years. They built a life with three daughters, filled with love, blessings and challenges. They moved to Florida in 1986, where they resided for 38 years.
A compassionate, dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse her entire career, she spent the majority of her professional years at the migrant health clinic, Marion E. Fether Medical Center, in Immokalee, Florida. She thoroughly enjoyed the cultural diversity among her patients and colleagues.
Pam had an eye for beauty and impeccable taste; she loved collecting unique clothing and accessories. She also had a lifelong love of animals and opened her heart and home to many beloved pets over the years. Her fur babies were among her most cherished companions.
Pam's life was marked by both deep love and profound loss. She endured the heartbreaking loss of her daughters, Carla and Lisa, and her grandson, Caleb. She was also a breast cancer survivor and lived many years with the challenges of dementia. Through it all, she faced adversity head on and showed resilience.
The family extends its deepest gratitude to the staff of Country Lane Memory Care in Riverton, Illinois, where Pam resided during the final two years of her life. Their extraordinary care, patience, and compassion helped bring comfort, stability, and dignity to her journey. They gave Pam and her family precious moments of peace, connection, and emotional balance that will never be forgotten. David and Andrea are especially grateful for the kindness and support shown to Pam during her time there.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents, James and Myrtle Markey; her daughters, Carla Ann Eddy and Lisa Beth Eddy-Forde; and her beloved grandson, Caleb Isaiah Forde.
She is survived by her devoted husband, David Eddy; her daughter, Andrea Eddy; her biological granddaughters, Lauren Dustman and Nicole Bichsel; her sisters, Mary (Mike) Pulliam and Theresa Nichols; her brother, James (Jaqueline) Markey; and many extended family members and friends.
Per Pam's wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to WILD Canine Rescue in Springfield, Illinois.
