SPRINGFIELD, IL – Patricia J. (Castles) Gray, 68, passed away Monday, March 23, 2020, at Memorial Medical Center.

She was born May 10, 1951, to Bill and Shirley (Bolinger) Castles. She married John Gray on October 13, 1985. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and beloved grandson, Zachary Chastain.

Pat retired from Illinois Department of Revenue. She was a member of Douglas Avenue United Methodist Church where she was a layperson and a member of Wesley Ringers bell choir and church choir. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her grandkids, watching NCIS and especially enjoyed McDonald's Mocha Frappes.

She is survived by her daughters, Jessica (Chris) Chastain and Amanda (Richard "Ben") Umberger; grandchildren, Isabella Chastain and Bennett Umberger; sisters, Terri Castles and Sue Castles; and her cat, Pumpkin.

A private graveside service will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020, at Camp Butler National Cemetery. The family will host a reception following the service from 3 until 6 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2020, at the Rochester Village Hall. Social distancing and face coverings will be required.
