SPRINGFIELD - Patricia Ann Niedernhofer, beloved wife, mother and friend, passed away peacefully on October 6, comforted by loved ones.

Pat was born on June 20, 1927, in Metz, Indiana.  She was one of nine children born to Paul and Helen Randolph. Her parents preceded her in death. She grew up in Angola, Indiana and the surrounding area. She worked at the county courthouse after graduating from Angola High School in 1945.  She met her husband, Robert, while he was studying Mechanical Engineering at Tri-State College in Angola.  They were married on May 6, 1950.

Bob's career led them through numerous cities and states. They lived in Illinois(twice), Missouri, New York, Ohio (twice), Texas, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. This nomadic life culminated in Springfield, Illinois as their final residence, but not their final home. They continued to move within this community several times.

Pat was primarily a housewife, but worked occasionally in the private sector.  She also volunteered at schools, church and in the various communities where she and Bob resided.  She had many friends throughout her travels, but getting back to visit relatives was always a special occasion.

She is survived by her loving sons, Paul and Thomas (Shelley); and grandchildren Elysia (Ben) and Tayt (Abby).  Also surviving is her sister, Sharon Kasaba; sister-in-law, Dr. Linda Randolph (Jerry); numerous nieces and nephews; and many other "unofficial" members of her extended family.

She was preceded in death by her adoring husband of 63 years, Robert Niedernhofer; her parents; four sisters, Nancy McIlvaine, Paula Jones, Sondra Ervin and Beverly Kundard; and three brothers, John Randolph, Tom Randolph and Dr. Jerry Randolph.

A celebration of Pat's life will be held in the near future with relatives and friends.
