Patsy "Pat" Ann Smith, 87, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025 at Memorial Hospital in Springfield. She was surrounded by her family.

Pat was born in Springfield, Illinois on January 18, 1938 to Joseph and

Minnie Hankins. Pat grew up in Waverly, Illinois and was the youngest girl of seven siblings: Gordon (Eloise) Hankins, Betty Turner, Pauline

(Haney) Smith, June (Harlan) Turner, Mary (Dick) Clancy and Jerry Hankins. Pat married Cecil Smith in July of 1958 and he preceded her in death on February 28, 2010.

Pat is survived by her daughters, Terri (Kendal Kett) Wiese and Lori

(Mark) Stevens; granddaughter, Lindsay (Jimmy) Guikema; grandson,

Hunter Stevens; great-grandsons, Benjamin and Teddy Guikema; and various nieces and nephews.

Pat lived a full life full of joy and adventure. She retired from AT&T (Illinois Bell) with over 30 years of service. She was over a 50-year member of The Order of the Eastern Star. Together with Cecil, they embarked on many entrepreneur endeavors including Smith's Baby Furniture, Smith's Used Furniture and Smith's Soft Serve. Pat touched the lives of so many people over the years. She loved her great-grandsons and took care of them on a daily basis. She enjoyed working in her yard and gardening.

Private burial and services will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in the spring.
