SPRINGFIELD, IL – Paula Sue Mirto, 74, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 12, 1947, to James and Mary (Thompson) Hartley. She married Joseph Mirto on June 10, 1967, in Springfield. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and parents.

Paula was an avid reader and gardener. She enjoyed listening to music and learning about history and other cultures.

She is survived by her children, Christine Mirto, Thomas (Johnette) Mirto, Laura (Gordon) Davis, and Catherine Mirto (Daniel Pruetz); nine grandchildren, Elizabeth (Mick) Berneking, Taylor Whitten, Kayleigh Mirto, Amberly Miller, Justin Mirto, Lea Miller, Liam Pruetz, Joseph Davis, and Evie Davis; three great-grandchildren, Briauna Berneking, Lucas Berneking, and Everleigh Berneking; sister, Anne Hilofsky; and several nieces and nephews.

Private family services were held. Burial was in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
