SPRINGFIELD – Peggy Jane Edwards, 89, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023, at The Bridge Care Suites.

She was born November 19, 1933, to Frank and Johnnye (Bryan) Powell. She married Donald Edwards on March 4, 1951. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Douglas; and siblings, Ben Powell, Frances Flynn and Jimmy Powell.

Peggy and her husband owned Deer Park Campground and Colonial Vending. She had also worked at Sunburst Clothing Store. She was a member of Elks Club and Red Hat Society. Peggy loved spending time with her grandkids, shopping, thrifting and traveling.

She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie (Gary) Hirsch and Lisa Reazer; sons, Tom Edwards and Donnie (Missy) Edwards; grandchildren, Jeremy and Brian Hirsch, Melissa (Ernie) and Nick (Sunni) Calhoun, Ryan (D'arlus) Edwards and Josh (Kristin) Edwards, and Brandon and Chris (Melissa) Edwards; great-grandchildren, Travis Phares, Hope Hibbs, Andrew Edwards, Ana Edwards, Tyler Edwards and Zaak Edwards; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Hanson officiating. Inurnment will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
