SPRINGFIELD – Phyllis J. Skaggs, 91, passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Villa Health Care East.

She was born in Peru, Indiana on May 29, 1932 to Wilson Walter and Grace (Speaks) Hensley. She married Harold Eugene Skaggs on June 6, 1953 in Springfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; and daughter, Tami Skaggs-Braidwood.

Phyllis was an avid reader and belonged to Beta Sigma Phi sorority.

She is survived by her son, Steve Skaggs; granddaughter, Kelsie Silveus; great-grandchildren, Avery and Skylar; son-in-law, Terry Braidwood; and several nieces and nephews.

Per Phyllis' wishes, no services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
