SPRINGFIELD, IL – Richard Lee Gross, 86, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 13, 1936, to Ernest and Leona (Stern) Gross. He married JoAnn Francis Broska on June 19, 1966, in Springfield. She preceded him in death, as did his brother, Gerald.

Richard was a U.S. Army veteran. He owned and operated Art Center Frames Unlimited and later was manager Blick Art Materials. He loved art, antiques and classic cars. He was a collector of all things, especially matchbooks, and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.

He is survived by his children, Jason (Dorothy) Gross and Amy (Steven) Churchill; 4 grandchildren, Rachel (Wes) Bridges, Charles Gross and Leanna and Eric Churchill; great-grandson, Logan Bridges; and niece, Kimberly Gross Menge.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, October 3, 2022, at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
