CHATHAM, IL – Richard H. Loyd, 90, passed away September 13, 2018, at the Villas of Holly Brook.

He was born May 19, 1928, to Lyman and Grace (Templeton) Loyd. He married Margy Edmonds on September 24, 1949, in Springfield.

Richard was a US Navy veteran. He was a self-employed general contractor and formerly employed by St. John's Hospital, Pillsbury Mills and Pella Windows. He loved traveling and going to Vegas in the winter, reading and spending time with family, especially taking them to Chesapeake.

He is survived by his children, Barbara (Ron) Tisdale-Dunkel and Bruce (Cathy) Loyd; grandchildren, Nick Loyd, and Michelle (Jason) Looper, great grandchildren, Marley and Ryan Loyd and Brooke and Brody Looper; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margy; parents; son, David Lee; granddaughter, Jessica; and sister, Betty Burg.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. Monday, September 17, 2018, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Gifford officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
