KINCAID – Robert Alan Argo, 71, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Evelyn's House, Creve Coeur, Missouri.
He was born December 24, 1951 to Henry and Beulah (Hancock) Argo, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his grandparents, George and Minnie McDaniel; and his brother, Leroy Argo.
Robert was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving 4 years during the Vietnam War on the USS America (CV-66) air craft carrier. During his service, he received the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Vietnam Service Medal. He was a member of Kincaid Church of God. He worked at Peabody Coal Mine #10 from 1976 until 1994. From 1994 until retirement, he owned and operated Argo's Small Engine Repair. He loved tinkering with small engines and trying to fix anything broken. He enjoyed growing huge gardens and giving it away to family and friends. Above all else, he loved spending time with his grandsons, Cooper and Camden. According to Cooper, he was "one of the best lawnmower mechanics known to man."
He is survived by his son, Alan (Kelly) Argo; Alan's mother, Martha Jean Argo; grandchildren, Cooper and Camden Argo; brother, Melvin Argo; several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Karen Argo.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.
