SPRINGFIELD – Robert J. Clotfelter, Sr., 88, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home.

He was born December 14, 1935 to Frederick and Catherine (Gillen) Clotfelter. He married Betty R. Monks on June 25, 2005 in Booneville, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; two sisters; and former spouses.

Bob was a US Air Force veteran. He was previously employed by the State of Illinois as a duplicating machine operator. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Bob was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He enjoyed playing chess, fishing, HAM radios and collecting eagle items. He loved watching planes and jets since working on jets in the Air Force. He was a member of the North American Fishing Club and HAM Radio Club.

He is survived by his wife, Betty R.; son, Scott (Yolanda) Clotfelter; several grandchildren, including Curtis "CJ" Clotfelter; several great-grandchildren, including Trae Clotfelter; and several nieces and nephews.

Private family services were held.
