Robert E. Hott, Jr., 78, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

He was born February 16, 1944, to Robert and Lola (Burchett) Hott, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Sharon Brown on February 18, 1967, in Springfield.

Bob was formerly employed by Sangamo Electric, Fiat-Allis and retired from Bunn-o-matic. He was a member of the police auxiliary. He enjoyed gardening, yardwork, working on cars and dog sitting.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Amy (Micah) Roderick, Andrew Hott and Adam (Kerstin) Hott; brothers, Raymond Hott and John Hott; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home, with Reverend Jeff Nelsen officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Animal Protective League or Springfield Center for Independent Living.
