Robert James "Jim" De Von, Jr., 77, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

He was born November 21, 1945 to Robert J. Sr. and Mary Ann (Herr) De Von.  He was preceded in death by his parents; half-sister, Carol Ann Dalke; and half-brother, Howard Sexton.                                                                                                                           Jim was a 1963 graduate of Lanphier High School.  He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1965 to 1968. He began working for the State of Illinois in 1969, retiring in 2010.  Jim was a member of American Legion Post 1922, Sons of the Legion and VFW Post 755.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; half-brother, Ron Sexton; his son, David A. De Von, of whom he was very proud.

At Jim's request, cremation rites will be accorded.  Inurnment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.  No services will be held.  Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
