SPRINGFIELD, IL – Robert J. Lueken, 44, born December 31, 1975; passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2020.

Robert ("Bob") was a light in a dark world, a friend to many.  Using his goofiness, silly voices, and sense of humor, he made it his job to give you a laugh.  Bob was gifted with wonderful artistic ability and boundless musical talent.  He was a singer and songwriter who could sit down to any instrument and play by ear, but he particularly enjoyed making music with his guitar and playing the drums.  Bob enjoyed making friends with the squirrels, chipmunks, and rabbits in the backyard and playing with beloved dog Molly.  He had a special affinity for the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies and was near impossible to beat at a game of Star Wars Trivial Pursuit.  Bob, who blessed us with his charm, uniqueness, and fun-loving spirit, will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his daughters, Elianna Grace Lueken and Alexandra Elise Lueken; parents, Mike and Debbie Lueken; brother, Jeff Lueken; and many adoring aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2020, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home, with Pastor Rick Bilyeu officiating.  Private burial will be in Brittin Cemetery near Cantrall.
