SPRINGFIELD, IL – Rod (Roddy) L. Johnson, AKA Husband, Father, Son, Papa, Brother, Uncle Rod, Mr. Rod and Friend, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at St. John's Hospital.

He was born in Galesburg on October 12, 1948, to Roderick and Marian (Briggs) Johnson. He married Fay Farrell on July 11, 1970, at the East Galesburg Community Chapel.

Rod was a US Army veteran serving two tours in the Vietnam War. He retired from the State of Illinois in 2002. He enjoyed reading and was an avid coffee drinker.

He is survived by his wife, Fay; daughter, Sara Margaret (Jay) Bourgeois; grandsons, Wesley Hobson and Benjamin Glosser; father, Roderick Johnson; sisters, Patty Brimberry and Cindy Powelson; step-brother, Larry Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.

Per Rod's request, no services are planned at this time.
