SPRINGFIELD – Ronald D. Funk, 79, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2026, at St. John’s Hospital.

He was born in Hinsdale on February 21, 1947, to Deane E. and Ethel G. (Gross) Funk. He married Edana “Dana” Ramsey on January 8, 1988 and she preceded him in death in 2022. He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Jess Levendoski; brother, Gary; and infant sister, Shirley.

Ronald was a US Air Force veteran and was a member of the American Legion. He retired after a long career as a truck driver for several local businesses. He cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and his dog, Piper.

He is survived by his daughters, Stacey Funk and Heather Ayers; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Sharon (Greg) Brown and Sheri Lausmann; brothers, Roger (Evon) Funk and Mark (Kim) Funk; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2026, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home with Senior Pastor Dr. Jessie Herring, Table of Life Ministries officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
