SPRINGFIELD – Ruth A. Bunch, 86, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Arcardia on the Hill.

She was born April 23, 1938 to Demmon and Hazel (Burris) Squires. She married Clyde Bunch on November 9, 1953 in Springfield. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Catherine Bunch DeFreitas; grandson, Scottie; great-great-granddaughter, Mila Stieren; seven brothers and four sisters.

Ruth was a homemaker and foster parent, caring for 29 children over the years. She was a member of Body of Christ Church and the Eagles Club. She was very talented at crocheting.

She is survived by her husband, Clyde; grandchildren, Stevie, CJ, Jason, and April; great-grandchildren, Sarah, Ariel, Jastine, Bella, Abby and Chad, Jr.; great-great-grandchildren, Kammy, Elijah, Lucas, Lilah, Aria, Ariana, G'annii, Garland and Mateo; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held 4 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 6 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home with Reverend David Gessaman officiating.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Tom Madonia West Park.
