SPRINGFIELD, IL – Ruth Knight Lee, 93, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Ruth was born February 6, 1929, to Dean and Ellen (Geiger) Knight. She married Charles W. Lee on November 17, 1952, in Sheridan, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband; and siblings, Mark Knight, Lois Kroc, Virgil Knight and Mardell Price.

Ruth and her husband owned Foxlee Kennels for over 20 years. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and the Builders Class.

She is survived by her children, Mark (Cathy) Lee and Elizabeth "Betsy" (Tony) Ramsden; grandsons, Michael, Matthew (Courtney), Jordan and Austen Lee, Nicholas (Paige), James and Daniel Ramsden; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home, with Reverend Mary Ellen Sharp officiating. To view the service live CLICK HERE

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 10, 2022, at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
