SPRINGFIELD – Sandra Lee McConnell, 76, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

She was born September 30, 1947 to Russell and Helen (Lemons) Black.  She married Don Allen McConnell in 1966. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; brother, Tom Black; and granddaughter, Mackinze Hughes.

Sandra worked as a baker at Kroger for 10 years and at Eagles for 5 years.

She is survived by her son, Russell (Sharon) McConnell; great-grandson, Axel Hughes; brother, Russell Clay; half-sister, Barbara A. Bartnick; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Hanson officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
