SPRINGFIELD, IL – Sharen D. Spain, 79, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 20, 1943, to Everett L. and Marjorie R. (Burchett) Mutzbauer, both of whom preceded her in death.

Sharen was formerly employed by Bank One and UCB. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening, cooking and celebrating the holidays. She loved sports and was an avid Chicago Bears fan.

She is survived by her children, Tyler R. (Dee) Spain, Michele (Dan) Knappmeyer and Matthew Spain; grandchildren, Robert, Megan, Tifani, Kaitlynn and Jack; siblings, Neil (Martha) Mutzbauer, Sue Jarutowicz, and Mark Mutzbauer; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at noon on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home with Warren Brosi officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Animal Protective League.
