SPRINGFIELD, IL – Shirley A. Coville, 95, passed away Monday, July 18, 2022.

She was born in Springfield on October 7, 1926, to Adolph and Flossie (Miller) Duerr. She married Rollin R. Coville on March 30, 1962. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996; parents, sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Thomas Kelly; brothers and sisters-in-law, Herb and Tootie Duerr and Kenny and Bonnie Duerr; sister, Norma Duerr; and stepdaughter, Cynthia Coville.

Shirley was a stewardess for American Airlines from 1951-1962, where she met her husband, Rollin, who was a pilot. They moved to San Mateo, California in 1967, then back to Springfield in 1993. Shirley was an avid golfer, talented artist/painter and skilled Bridge player, reaching the level of Bronze Life Master. Her quick wit, effervescent personality and ever sharp mind will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her stepson, Rollin (Pam) Coville of Richmond, California; step-grandson, William Coville (Andrea Dominguez) of Richmond, California; and several nieces, nephews and friends that were very dear to her.

Per Shirley's request, cremation rites were accorded and no services are planned.
