SPRINGFIELD, IL – Shirley Lee Vinson, 77, passed away Monday, March 21, 2022, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 9, 1944, to Raymond and Mary Alice (Peters) Lanham. She married Michael Vinson on November 23, 1992. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Linda Parks and Carol Parks; and Tom Lanham.

Shirley was employed by Sangamon County as the 5 ^th Floor receptionist aka "The Queen." She was an avid reader and loved all sports.

She is survived by her children, Dawn (P.W.) Brewer, Shelley (Kevin) McDermand, and Jerry (Tonia) Tracy; grandchildren, Chelsea and Chase McDermand, Joshua, Valerie, Maria, Jacob and Caleb Brewer, Brittney and Brenden Tracy; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Jeanie Myers; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 4-6 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2022, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
