Siebert D. McLaughlin, 89, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024, at his home.

He was born April 6, 1935 to Siebert K. and Helen (Best) McLaughlin. He married Sharon Romack on October 5, 1957 in Newton, IL. She preceded him in death in 2023. He was also preceded by an infant daughter, Diane; and sisters, Margaret, Mildred, Elsie, Lula, Murial, Doris and Joann; and brother, Robert.

Siebert retired from Laborers Local 477. He was a member of Eagles Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing, trips to Las Vegas and watching Chicago Cubs. He and Sharon spent summers at Otter Lake for 27 years.

He is survived by his children, Donald (Diana) McLaughlin, Melon (Penny) McLaughlin and Pamela McLaughlin Lusk; 6 grandchildren, Jennifer (Tony), Kristin, Meagan (Brett), Brittany, Rachel and Emily (Tanner); 10 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Madelyn, Kenzie, Fayth, Brystol, Skylar, Cannon, Olivia, Wesley and Viola; siblings, Chuck (Pam) McLaughlin, Kenneth (Diane) McLaughlin, Kay (Jake) Hohimer and Kathy (Jimmy) Roscetti; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
