ROCHESTER, IL – Stephen A. Hendren, 60, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021, at his home.

He was born in Quincy on July 21, 1961, to Dale and Marilyn (Hillman) Hendren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Laura Jean.

After graduating from Quincy High School, Stephen attended Quincy University to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technologies. He was formerly employed by St. John's Hospital and Illinois Department of Public Health. He loved music and dancing and was a member of West Coast Swing, Central Illinois Dance Club and Prairie Land Dance Club. He was a brass musician specializing in playing the euphonium. He was a proud Rochester football and cheer dad.

He is survived by his children, Mallori (Troy) Tremain, Lucas Hendren (Taryn Bates), Ashleigh (Drew) Smith and Britni (Andrew) Beck; grandchildren, Nayomi, Weston, Gabriel, Lochlan, Maci, Barrett, Micah and Sadie; brother, Charles "Chuck" (Arlene) Hendren; and four nephews.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Sunday, August 15, 2021, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home, with Pastor Dustin Bramer officiating.
