LINCOLN – Steven Paul Reckers, 64, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at his home.

He was born in Rock Island on September 7, 1959, to Elmer and Mildred (Klongerboe) Reckers. He married Teresa Ritz on July 5, 1980, in Keithsburg, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Laurie, Vickie and Tina.

Steven worked over 30 years as a diesel mechanic and spent his last year as a custodian for the Lincoln School District #27.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa; children, Joshua Reckers, Jeffrey (Hollie) Reckers, Krysta Reckers (Kyle Fuller) and Toni (Daniel) Correy; eight grandchildren; brothers, Bill Reckers, Jimmy Reckers and Ed Reckers; sisters, Carole Jackson, Debbie King, and Bette Reckers; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2024, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home.
