LOAMI – Steven Ray Turner, 66, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2024, at St. John's Hospital.

He was born in Springfield on February 10, 1958, to Willie Ray and Ellen Marie Turner, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Susan Rowden on February 19, 1977. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven James Turner; two sisters; and two brothers.

Steven was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Chicago Cubs fan.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; children, Justin Turner and Chelsea Smith; grandchildren, Peyton, Tyler and Hallie Smith. He was papa to Brady, Isabelle, Launna, Damian and many others. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Jim Smith; mother-in-law, Joyce Rowden; several nieces and nephews; two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law;; and several cousins.

The family will host a memorial gathering from 11 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 12 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the Loami Christian Church with Pastor Brian Fox officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in care of Susan Turner at Warren-Boynton State Bank. The funds collected will be distributed by the family to local organizations that were important to Steven.
