Sue Ellen Johnson, 82, was born December 12, 1942 in Hillsboro, Illinois. She passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Sunrise Nursing Home in Virden, Illinois.

Sue Ellen was formerly employed by Lutheran Child and Family Services and retired from the State of Illinois. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, and raising parakeets, especially her beloved bird, Jelly Bean. She could hit a softball farther than any boy, wrote a novel, and swam across the Mississippi River… twice.

She is survived by her sisters, Judy (Bert) Wascher of Clinton; Lynn Thoms of Clinton; Sheryl Chaudoin of Fulton, IL and Patti (Snuff) Schulze of Sabula, IA; children, Kim (Floyd) Disney of Springfield; V.J. Viola; Chris (fiancée, Elizabeth) Viola, as well as extended family.

She is preceded in death by her father, George Arley Hudelson, and mother, Norma E. Hudelson, both of Clinton, Iowa.

Per Sue's request, a memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 12, 2025 in the Oak Ridge Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel.
