SPRINGFIELD – Ted M. Bottoms, 94, passed away Friday, May 22, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

He was born November 29, 1931, to Miller and Letha A. Bottoms, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Paula J. "Sue" Lowery and she preceded him in death in 1984.

Ted was a US Navy veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a welder for Allis-Chalmers/Fiat Allis, retiring after 30+ years of service. He attended Abundant Faith Church and was a member of the American Legion and Sangamon Valley RC Flyers Club. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed shooting pool with friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Terri Bottoms; sons, Ted Bottoms, Jr. (wife, Sam) and Kevin Bottoms; and grandchildren, Ethan and Paxton Bottoms.

Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. A private family burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
