SPRINGFIELD – Terry L. Stecker, 68, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024, at his home.

He was born November 3, 1956 to Paul C. and Betty Jean (Ruffin) Stecker. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Timothy Stecker; and brother-in-law, Dick Waters.

Terry was a carpenter by trade and previously employed by Buraski Builders and retired from Business Support Systems. He enjoyed fishing and going to his cabin on the Illinois River. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially his nieces and nephews. He was a devout Illini Basketball fan.

He is survived by his siblings, Timothy (Olga) Stecker, Wrenda Waters, Paula (Mark) Keller and Lee Ann (Archer) Logan; half-siblings, Paul (Terri) Stecker, Dianna (Steven) Siere and Torry (Judy) Stecker; several nieces and nephews; and his cat, Mr. Big.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Buckhart.
