It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Theresa Ann Pokora, 66, of Springfield. She passed away on January 13, 2024, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Theresa was born on January 12, 1958 to Carol and John R. Pokora, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Clyde Bull; grandparents, Irene Cullen and Eileen and Walter Pokora, as well as her uncle, Patrick Cullen.

Theresa's family was the most important part of her life. She kept them lovingly in her heart at all times.

Leaving to mourn her passing are her sister, Debra Pokora-Monkman-Miller; niece, Holly (David) Monkman-Columbus; nephew, Steve (Jennifer) Monkman; great-niece, Mallory and great- nephew, Lee. Theresa was also a part of and greatly loved by the Monkman and Kuchen families and many other family members and friends.

Theresa was part of the 1977 graduating class of Springfield Southeast High School. She retired from Springfield Memorial Medical Center and worked at Horace Mann as well as several other Springfield businesses.

Theresa loved decorating, organizing and enjoyed cooking, which she was very good at. She created great memories for family & friends through gatherings at her kitchen table. Theresa had a way of finding the silver lining in every situation and brought humor and laughter to everyone who was lucky enough to cross her path.

Theresa's loving and sweet soul will be missed by all who loved her. A wonderful caring and good-hearted person gone too soon.

Plans for a Celebration of Theresa's life will be announced at a later date.
