RIVERTON – Thomas "Kenny" Grant, Sr., 85, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village.

He was born July 25, 1937, to Thomas and Esther (Scott) Grant. He married Connie Myers on November 11, 1955, in Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by his wife; sons, Mark and Thomas "Kenny" Grant, Jr.; brother, Larry Grant; and sister, Linda Bradley.

Kenny was formerly employed by Standard Concrete and Freeman United Crown II Mine. He was a member of Real Life Church and United Mine Workers. He enjoyed camping, watching birds and spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Illini basketball fan.

He is survived by his companion, Gladys Sokolis; son, Kevin (Debbie) Grant, Sr.; grandchildren, Thomas "Tommy" (Stacey) Grant, III, Amy Jo Grant, and Kevin (Annie) Grant, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Tristan, Josey, Megan, Ryan and Remington; brother, Gary Grant; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home, with Reverend Clint Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
