SPRINGFIELD – Tracey L. Richards, 59, passed away Friday, June 20, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

He was born September 9, 1965 to Charles E. and Janice (Monk) Richards. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill Richards; and niece, Amanda Williams.

Tracey was the owner and operator of Richards Asphalt and Paving. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and four-wheeling, and taking long drives to enjoy the scenery. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida. His grandchildren were his whole world and he cherished time spent with them. He will be remembered for his humor, ornery nature and wise-cracks.

He is survived by his children, Hailey Richards (Mike Fawns), Merissa Richards, Jake (Alex) Richards and Tristan Richards; grandchildren, Tony Jimison, Kaelyn Jimison, Cheyenne Jimison, Isabella Fawns, Annaleise Fawns, Colstyn Fawns, Elsie Richards and Arthur Richards; siblings, Buster (Lil) Richards, Mary (Tom) Thompson and John (Lori) Nelson; aunt, Renee Miller; cousins, Robin Miller and Mike Miller; special friends, Devon and Holly Cox-Fugnitti; nieces, Chelsea (Jeff) Foley; nephews, Scooter Richards and Nathan Lucht; several close cousins; and his best friend and faithful canine companion, Bodie.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family of Tracey Richards c/o Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
