Velma M. "Val" Ingram, 86, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at her home.

She was born in Jacksonville on August 7, 1936, to Wesley and Beulah (Waters) Spencer. She married Donald W. Ingram on May 27, 1966, in Chicago. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; and sister, Violet Spencer Chestnut.

Val graduated with honors from Jacksonville High School where she was a cheerleader and star athlete. She retired from Springfield Clinic. She was an avid lover of birds, flowers, nature and her collection of teddy bears. She loved her family, especially her sons and she had a deep faith in her Lord.

She is survived by her sons, Alex (Bridgette) Ingram and Wesley (Sandy) Ingram; grandsons, Michael (Erica) Bartlett and Jacob (Macey) Catalano; great-grandchildren, Jetson and Zoey; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
