DAWSON – Vera Anne Crawford, 92, passed away Monday, September 23, 2024, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 26, 1932 to Harold "Smokey" and Faye (Stuart) Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. "Jim" Crawford in 2007; son, Michael Neil Davis; sister, Nellie B. Runkel; and 2 brothers, Harold "Bus" and Donald Williams, all of Springfield.

Vera retired in 1995 from State of Illinois Department of Revenue. She had previously worked as a waitress for 30 years at the Hen House in Divernon, Ramada Inn in Springfield and P.J.'s in Dawson.

Vera was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. She also enjoyed the Chicago Bears and NASCAR, as well as motorcycle riding and roller skating in her younger days.

She served as Trustee and Vice President of the Eagles Club #4361 Ladies Auxiliary of Riverton and was a member of Eastern Star Pawnee Chapter OES #436.

She is survived by her sons, Tommy Harold (Michelle, deceased) Robinett of Buffalo and Bradley Dean (Tami) Robinett of Mechanicsburg; stepdaughters, Nancy Haynes of SC, Jamie (David) Cilladi of Mesa, AZ and Denise Crawford of Lincoln, IL; stepson, James Crawford, Jr. of Prescott, AZ; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Knight of Columbus Marian Hall at 335 S. Fourth Street, Riverton, IL.
