SPRINGFIELD, IL – Virginia Collins, 86, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017, at Memorial Medical Center.

She was born December 8, 1931, to Walter and Rosa (Puckett) Thompson. She married Frank Veach in 1949 and later divorced. She later married Robert Collins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and son, Jay.

Virginia retired as Executive Housekeeper for Lewis Memorial Christian Village. She was a member of West Side Christian Church.

She is survived by her sons, Craig (Sally), Brad, and Barry Veach (Tonya Cochran); nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two nieces; and two nephews.

Visitation and Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home, with Reverend Gary Winkleman officiating.
