SPRINGFIELD – Walter L. Loyd, Sr., 84, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

He was born January 10, 1940 to Edward Raymond and Noma (Dulany) Loyd. He married Sandra K. Page on December 29, 1963. He was preceded by his wife, Sandra; 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Walter was a US Army Veteran. He worked as a forklift operator for Oscar Mayer and Cargill. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and camping. He was a St. Louis Cardinal fan and an avid Candy Crusher.

He is survived by his sons, Walter (Lisa) Loyd, Jr. and Randy (Tonya) Loyd; daughter, Norma Hennessey; 6 grandchildren including, LeeAnn (Ted) Eifert, Tori (Eli) Loyd and Dakota Loyd; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Earl Loyd; sister, Alice Garner; canine companion, Colt; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
