Obituary

SPRINGFIELD, IL – Wanda S. Volz, 81, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 9, 1940 to Charles and Olive (Hillis) Tanner. She married Floyd E. "Buddy" Volz. She was preceded in death by her husband; and her parents.

Wanda was formerly employed by Friendly Chevrolet, the Bartender's Union, Eastern Packing and the Auburn IGA. She served as president for the local chapter of AARP for many years. She was a member of the Eagles Aerie 437 Ladies Auxiliary, National Street Rod Association and Cool Cruisers and was a proud to carry her FOID card. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed traveling, shopping and going out to lunch. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Lawrence "Joe" Zukas, Jr. (Bonita Dillon) and Brenda (Ed) Reynolds; grandchildren, Laken Zukas, Olivia Reynolds, Sophia Reynolds and Jessica (Cody) Boyd; great-grandson, Oliver; and many nieces and nephews.

Private family burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight.
