SPRINGFIELD, IL – William F. "Bill" Cisco, 76, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at his home.

He was born February 4, 1946, to Jesse H. and Rosa (Russell) Cisco. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald and Ronald Cisco; and sister, Jackie Stade.

Bill was a US Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He retired from the Illinois Secretary of State. Bill was a wealth of knowledge. He enjoyed watching his son throw bags and bowl and cherished time spent with his family.

He is survived by his son, Curt (Kathy) Cisco; grandchildren, Jesse (Alex) Cisco, Jacob (Megan) Cisco and Jenna Cisco (Mason Katterhenry); great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Scott and Sophie Christine (due 11/21/22); brothers, Russell (Sylvia) Cisco and Dale R. Cisco; sisters, Geraldine Hamilton and Anna (Everett) Langley; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 4-6 p.m. on Monday, September 5, 2022, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors provided by the Department of Defense United States Army and the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
