LOAMI, IL – William Earl Doerr, 73, passed away Monday, December 20, 2021, at Memorial Medical Center.

He was born October 26, 1948, to William Everett and Myrtle (Wallace) Doerr. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Paul Doerr.

William was a US Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He retired from GTE in 1994. He enjoyed fishing, and was NASCAR and the St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was a member of Jacksonville AMVETS Post 100.

He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Doerr of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Toby Doerr of Loami and Ashley Senter of Pennsylvania; sister, Georgia Volk; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2021, at Camp Butler National Cemetery with Pastor Larry Hanson officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the United States Army and the Inter-Veteran Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
