SPRINGFIELD – William Howard Hammond, 80, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2025, at his home.

He was born in Springfield on July 27, 1945 to Fredrick and Mildred (Harford) Hammond, both of whom preceded him in death. His brother, Fredrick Hammond, Jr. also preceded him in death. He married Larayne Diann Cunningham in 1964, in Springfield.

Bill was the owner and operator of Hammond Floor Covering and attended Sugar Creek United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Diann; sons, Bill Hammond and Todd (Cathy) Hammond; daughter, Holly (Chub) Hough; grandchildren, Thomas (Laura) Hammond, Colin (Elizabeth) Hammond, Hillary (Matt) Cook, Emily (Riley) Murphy; Shelby (Joey) Wetstein, and Sarah Hammond; great-grandchildren, Ella, Adalyn, Luke, Mason and Mackenzie; and many nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held.
