SPRINGFIELD – William Frank Herrin, 70, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023, at The Loft of Decatur.

He was born December 20, 1952, to John E. "Jack" and Virginia "Gini" (Riggins) Herrin. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-brother, Rodney McNeal; and step-sister, Jodi Vaughn.

William was a musician, playing in many local bands.

He is survived by his son, Brett Herrin (Amber Holt); two grandchildren; step-mother, Beverly J. Herrin; siblings, John Herrin, Lisa Herrin, Julie (Stephen) Melvin, Kirsten (Joe) Kienzler and Jamie (Jessie) Herrin; step-sister, Brenda McNeal-Heimann; step-brothers, Randy (Jodi) McNeal, Jeff McNeal (Laura Casper) and Todd (Teresa) McNeal; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held from 5 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Hanson officiating. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to charity of choice.
